METTA FAN DRONE / Harsh Noise Sound Art Instrument
The Metta Fan drone is a handheld noise device capable of creating an array of sounds and textures useful in harsh noise, industrial, experimental music and sound art.
This device utilises a brushless DC fan (regularly used in consumer electronics) as the noise generator itself. The fan is amplified via a handwired piezoelectric transducer pickup system to a 1/4" output jack.
On/Off switch starts and stops the fan motor spinning. The momentary push button temporarily mutes the audio signal in order to create chopped-up, noisey tremolo effects.
